The Projects module helps you manage projects, tasks, and team collaboration. Organize work, track progress, and deliver projects on time.


What is Projects?


The Projects module provides:


  • Project Management: Create and organize projects
  • Task Management: Break projects into tasks
  • Task Lists: Organize tasks into sections
  • Team Collaboration: Assign tasks to team members
  • Progress Tracking: Monitor project and task status
  • Time Tracking: Track time spent on tasks (if enabled)
  • File Attachments: Attach files to projects and tasks


Key Concepts


Projects


Projects are containers for related work.


Project Information:

  • Name: Project title
  • Description: What the project involves
  • Client: Link to CRM contact/company
  • Status: Active, on hold, completed, cancelled
  • Start Date: When project begins
  • Due Date: Project deadline
  • Budget: Project budget (optional)
  • Team Members: Assigned team


Tasks


Tasks are individual work items within a project.


Task Information:

  • Title: Task name
  • Description: Task details
  • Status: Not started, in progress, completed
  • Priority: Low, medium, high
  • Assignee: Who's responsible
  • Due Date: Task deadline
  • Task List: Which section it belongs to


Task Lists


Task lists organize tasks into sections or phases.


Common Uses:

  • Phases: "Planning", "Development", "Testing"
  • Categories: "Design", "Development", "Marketing"
  • Sprints: "Sprint 1", "Sprint 2"
  • Milestones: "Phase 1", "Phase 2"

Access Projects:

  • Click "Projects" in left sidebar
  • Or go to /projects in browser


Projects Sections:

  • Dashboard: Overview, active projects, recent tasks
  • Projects List: All projects
  • Project Detail: Individual project view with tasks


Common Workflows


Starting a New Project


  1. Create Project: Go to Projects → New Project
  2. Set Details: Name, description, client, dates
  3. Add Team: Assign team members
  4. Create Task Lists: Organize into phases
  5. Add Tasks: Break down work into tasks
  6. Assign Tasks: Distribute work to team
  7. Track Progress: Monitor completion


Daily Task Management


  1. View Tasks: Check assigned tasks
  2. Update Status: Mark tasks in progress/complete
  3. Add Comments: Update team on progress
  4. Check Due Dates: Prioritize upcoming deadlines
  5. Complete Tasks: Mark finished tasks complete


Project Collaboration


  1. Assign Tasks: Give tasks to team members
  2. @Mention: Tag team members in comments
  3. Share Updates: Comment on tasks and projects
