Annotations

Annotations

Annotations are visual feedback pins on project files (images, PDFs) or URLs. Place a pin at a specific location, add threaded comments, assign to team members, and track status. Similar to MarkUp.io or Figma comments.

Supported Targets

  • Project Files – Images (PNG, JPG, etc.) and PDFs attached to the project
  • URLs – External or embedded web pages

Creating an Annotation

  1. Open the file preview or URL preview for the project.
  2. Click on the image, PDF, or URL view where you want to place a pin.
  3. The pin is placed at that position (stored as a percentage so it scales with the preview).
  4. Optionally:
  • Add a title
  • Attach a screenshot (crop of the area)
  • Set Assignee
  • Mark as Internal Only (visible only to your team)
  1. Add the first comment and save.

Comment Threads

  • Each annotation has a comment thread.
  • Add replies for threaded discussions.
  • Use @mentions to notify specific users (e.g. @John).
  • Mentioned users receive an Annotation Mention notification.

Status

Status

Description

Open

Active feedback, needs action

Resolved

Addressed, can be reopened

Snoozed

Deferred for later

Update status from the annotation thread or list view.

Internal-Only Annotations

  • Internal annotations are visible only to your team, not to clients.
  • Use for internal notes, reminders, or team discussion.
  • Client-facing annotations are visible to both team and client (when they have access).

Assignee

Assign an annotation to a team member so they are notified and responsible for addressing the feedback.

PDF Support

For PDFs, you can specify a page number so pins are scoped to the correct page. Navigate to the page, then click to place the pin.

Screenshot

When creating a pin, you can optionally upload a screenshot (crop) of the area. This is stored and displayed in the thread for context.
