Steps on how to connect your Email to Swell
There are two ways on how you can link your Email to Swell.
Allowing Less Secure apps
Using an App generated Password and 2-Step Verification
Method 1: Allowing Less Secure apps
You can use this step if you don’t like to set up the 2 verification for Gmail.
Go to your profile

In the IMAP field. Choose your Email provider, input your email and password. Don’t forget to click on the update button to save the changes.

Go to your Email and you will receive a security alert message from Google.

Click on “ Check activity” and confirm by clicking on the “ Yes, it was me” button.

Go back to your Swell Account and click your Inbox. Your email should be automatically linked and you can see all your Emails.
If your email didn’t connect successfully, you may encounter these errors and these are the steps you need to follow.
Error 1
Can not authenticate to IMAP server: Application-specific password required.

Solution 1: Check your email password. The password must be correct.
Solution 2: It is asking for app generated password. You can go to this link https://www.lifewire.com/get-a-password-to-
access-gmail-by-pop-imap-2-1171882 and follow the steps on how to generate a password.

After you generate a password, input the generated app password in the IMAP password field.

Check your inbox. Your emails should be showing now.
Error 2
Please log in via your browser.

a. If you see this error you need to go to this link https://support.google.com/mail/answer/7126229?
visit_id=637661273657203507-1191873424&rd=2#cantsignin&zippy=%2Ci-cant-sign-in-to-my-email-client and click on the
https://www.google.com/accounts/DisplayUnlockCaptcha.

b. Click continue.
